About

I’m Nathaniel, a director, writer, and producer based in Austin
My work blends documentary realism, music, and cultural storytelling. I produced the feature documentary SOBER, centered on the recovery community The Phoenix, and directed, produced, and edited Echotone, a New York Times Critics’ Pick that played theatrically before streaming on Netflix and Hulu.
At Freethink, I directed and produced more than two dozen films with Stand Together partners. I also developed the official Lollapalooza documentary series for Paramount+ and have collaborated with A24, Google, Live Nation, and Word Playground.
Born in San Antonio, I returned to Texas after more than a decade in Los Angeles. I’m drawn to regional identity, music culture, and overlooked corners of American life. I’m now bringing that background into scripted work, including Battle of Flowers and Quick Quick Slow.
Off set, I’m an avid social dancer—especially salsa and two-step. Austin’s dance floors, honky-tonks, and creative communities are part of my life, and increasingly part of the stories I want to tell.
